For best results, the first burn should be long enough to create a melt pool across the entire candle–this can take up to 2 hours. Subsequent burns do not necessarily require long burn times and should not affect performance.
Wick should be no longer than 1/4″ with each light, and any carbon buildup should be removed prior to relighting.
It is not recommended to burn candles continuously for more than 4 hours.
Wood Wick Candles
Make sure your wick is trimmed to 1/8″-1/4″ before lighting. If the wick is too long, it will extinguish quickly.
Light wood wick by dragging flame across entire wick, not just at one corner. A long match, grill lighter, or torch lighter can make lighting easier.
Unlike regular cotton wicks, wood wicks require a bit of care–trim or snap off the ash before each light for best results.
